Introduction
Lpanel 1x was created y DataCities, Inc.solely due to the fact that there was
no adequete client management software available for web hosting companies. After
purchasing 2 different software titles (which are still available today but will
not be named), the frustration grew to the point of developing a custom software
for the DataCities, Inc. web hosting operation. What we found was that not only
were the previous softwares lacking features and scalability, they were poorly
written. At first, Lpanel started as a few scripts to help manage the DataCities
hosting operation and soon expanded into a small software that we calling LazyBilling
(in an attempt to make fun of a former sales employee's lack of work ethic; he
didn't take the hint). As my company progressed and client base grew, so did the
software, which now accounts for its full scalibility. Further along I realized
that it was no longer going to be a simple billing program but rather the most
powerful client management software possible.
Like cPanel's predecessors, there now exists boring and at best mediocre client
management software titles that are missing the key ingredients to a successful
product, heart and character. While developing Lpanel, I have taken as many scenarios
into account as possible and have developed features over a year of managing my
now prosperous hosting company. While hard work is very important, I know that
without Lpanel my hosting company would have never been able to handle this type
of client growth. As I am very proud of DataCities, Inc. and continue to
put my efforts into its growth, I know that it must have the best client management
software as its backbone, and thus Lpanel continues to grow.
